so, i stumbled upon MDA while surfing the net... and i got hooked. whatever he wrote made so much sense! i was immediately intrigued and felt so validated about the way i'd been thinking for a while.
a bit of background:
i've never been skinny or been remotely close to what one might call 'slim'. this is bad, seeing how my dear Singapura is full of mostly petite, slim people. case in point- i'm 1.65m (5'4") and i'm considered TALL. the people i met who were the same stature as me were very few and far between. this of course took a toll on me. my entire teenage life i was always trying to fit in. the only break i had was when i went to Australia for university. it was brilliant, being around people my size. then, came back to work and it started all over again.
fast forward to today, i'm married with a toddler and guess what? i'm still battling my body.
today i read about finding your tipping point. ohhh no wonder i haven't been successful! so here i am, creating a blog, so there can be some sort of tab keeping. bear with me, i prefer to write than type. might end up seeing scanned pages from my diary instead. haha.
primal living starts now. onwards!
In the middle of reading his book myself. Interested in knowing if you've done any research into getting quality meats/veggies in Singapore? In his book, Mark decries the quality of commercial meats/veggies in the States and lists alternatives available there but I'm not sure if commercial meats/veggies we can get in Singapore are as bad as in the States in the first place. If so, where to get the healthier (more expensive) alternatives in Singapore?
ReplyDeleteWow I wasn't expecting comments so fast! Haha. I think u can check out Bollywood veggies and the organic section of most 'ang moh' catered supermarkets like jason's or any cold storage/carrefour in the town area
ReplyDeleteMeat wise (actually also veggie wise) u can consider getting the kampong labelled stuff like chicken. Alas my own choices r even more limited cos I need halal meat... Do share your sources if u have any!
